Tired of the constant hassle at the border?
Sick of the forms, the wait, the lost time?
Join us in a discussion about how we can open the US-Canada border
The US and Canada are each other's largest trading partner. families and social
organizations span the border along its 5,520 mile (8.820 km) length. Yet both
countries are spending untold millions of dollars to make it harder and harder
to cross that imaginary line, forcing some businesses to stop cross-border
deliveries and entire families to give up cross-border visits. It has become too
expensive and too time-consuming to comply with the ever-increasing regulations.
Europe has opened their borders from Portugal to Estonia while we are closing
ours. Historic enemies like Germany and Poland now have no controlled border
between them, while historic friends like Canada and the US tighten theirs.
Is it not time to end this nonsense and find a way to open our common border for
our common good? Come to the social hall of the UU church in Derby Line, VT at
1pm on Saturday, February 5th. It is across from the Irving station and nearly
next to the US Customs.
There
are many questions to discuss; maybe you can help suggest answers and paths to
this goal.
Help us join together again.
