Do you want to build your own home?

Here we are putting up roof trusses on one of our buildings. We designed it and built the walls. The roof trusses were designed and manufactured to exceed local conditions. Later we cut trees, sawed logs into lumber and installed the rough sawn boards as siding on this building. There are many aspects of a building. You can choose to do some or all of them yourself.
Below is how it looks in winter with its siding boards.
The Aeronca Champ airplane was purchased as a wreck Dec 31, 1980. We learned how and rebuilt it in the Spring of 1981 and I have flown it since then.

How is your home/family/work situation? How secure are you? Are you in charge or does it seem as if the evolving universe plays with you unfairly? Would you like to learn how to build your own life securely step by step?
We can coach you.
After doing the family expected things like going to school, getting degrees, getting married, and getting a good job, I found I was not really in control of my life because I did not have a secure homestead from which to operate. I was at the whim of my boss and the good company for which I worked. Things were good, but I felt insecure. I wanted my own large physical space. My wife and I decided to leave and go it on our own. It is a big decision and not for everyone. We learned to start simple, but solid. We learned to build. We learned to build the things we wanted. We learned that life does not progress uniformly up toward our goals. Sometimes things go as desired, and sometimes there are setbacks.
We would like to offer you courses in how to build and do for yourself. While you learn how to physically build things, you will also be learning how to become more secure. The technique of building on solid rock vs. building on sinking sand is one of those appropriate sayings. You can learn to build your own buildings. You can learn to grow, harvest, and put away your own food. You can learn to grow and harvest your own energy and heat sources. When you have your secure homestead, then you can explore your other dreams, inventions and ambitions.
